What began as a movement called H.O.P.E in 2017 has since evolved into a registered entity named Hope Ascending NPC, a South African nonprofit company (NPC) with Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) SARS status. Dedicated to uplifting disenfranchised communities, Hope Ascending focuses on comprehensive educational development, health, and sustainability. Founded on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive in a supportive and enriching environment, Hope Ascending NPC aims to create lasting, positive impacts in rural and underserved communities across South Africa.

Our mission is to collaborate with disenfranchised rural and township communities in South Africa, alongside other partners, to uplift and improve school buildings and facilities, fostering environments that support learning, hygiene, and safety.

OUR VISION

Hope Ascending envisions a long-term journey, spanning approximately 18 years, where every child has access to quality education, adequate infrastructure, and a safe, nurturing environment that fosters both personal and community growth. This holistic education nurtures not only the mind but also the body, soul, and spirit. By creating environments that support both academic and extracurricular activities throughout their school years, the organization aims to foster individual development while strengthening school communities. Aligned with South Africa's National Development Plan (NDP), Hope Ascending is committed to empowering disenfranchised communities through sustainable development, ensuring that education serves as the foundation for lasting societal progress.

OUR CORE FOCUS AREAS

Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centres

Hope Ascending focuses on facilitating the establishment and development of ECD centres to provide children with a strong educational foundation. These centres are vital for cognitive and emotional development in a child’s early years. By offering access to quality learning environments, you as the sponsor empower the children from disenfranchised backgrounds to thrive academically and socially.

School Infrastructure Development

Many schools in rural areas lack basic infrastructure necessary for a safe and effective learning environment. Hope Ascending facilitates the building and renovation of school buildings, classrooms, and ablution areas, and provides the Program Management skills required to manage the project. These initiatives help bridge the gap between resource-deprived schools and their better-resourced counterparts, creating equal learning opportunities for all children.

Health and Sanitation Projects

With a strong commitment to improving student health, Hope Ascending focuses on providing safe and sanitary ablution facilities in schools. By building or upgrading sanitation systems, the organization mitigates health risks, promotes hygiene, and ensures students, especially girls, are able to attend school regularly in a dignified environment.

Sustainable Agriculture Programs

Addressing food insecurity and promoting sustainability, Hope Ascending works with schools to establish vegetable and fruit tree gardens. These gardens provide nutritional food sources for school feeding programs and help instill agricultural knowledge among students and local communities. This initiative not only tackles hunger but also promotes long-term self-sufficiency.

Sports and Recreational Facilities

Physical activity is crucial for the holistic development of children. Hope Ascending promotes and facilitates the building of sports fields and recreational facilities to encourage physical education and community interaction. By supporting school sports programs, the organization promotes health, teamwork, and personal growth through recreational activities.

This capability not only provides a tangible benefit to larger corporations seeking impactful CSI, CSR, ESG, or sustainability projects but also positions HA to facilitate more significant projects that align with South Africa's National Development Plan. With this expanded capacity, we plan to engage with both corporate foundations and specialized oversight bodies, creating pathways to larger and more impactful collaborations.
