Donate Clothing

Your clean, usable clothing and shoes give dignity, enable Enterprise Development, and restore hope in communities across Pretoria.

Why It Matters

Your donation does more than you think

When you donate clean, usable clothing and shoes to Hope Ascending NPC, your items enter a structured, community-driven processing system. They are sorted, cleaned, repaired, and made ready — not for a landfill, but for lives.

Donated items serve three powerful purposes: they provide dignity and warmth to families who genuinely need them, they become stock for affordable resale to the working poor at minimal cost, and they serve as practical training material for interns developing real entrepreneurial and vocational skills.

Every jacket, pair of shoes, or children's outfit you no longer need has the potential to clothe a child, reduce a family's financial burden, or equip a young entrepreneur with the tools to build a livelihood.

We currently serve communities in East Lynne, Eersterus, and Mamelodi, with plans to expand. Your donation reaches real families in real need, through a responsible, transparent programme.

What your donation enables

Each item donated contributes directly to these outcomes:

Dignity & Direct Relief

Clean clothing is distributed to families who need it most, providing warmth, dignity, and practical relief.

Affordable Access

Quality items are made available at minimal cost to the working poor, reducing financial pressure on families.

Enterprise Development

Items become stock and training material for interns building real skills in sorting, mending, retailing, and business management.

Sustainability

Keeping usable clothing out of landfills reduces waste and supports an environmentally responsible circular economy.

Guidelines

What we accept

We welcome all clean, usable clothing and footwear for men, women, and children. Please review the guidelines below before dropping off.

Men's Clothing

Shirts, trousers, jackets, jerseys, suits, shorts, and casual or formal wear in good, wearable condition.

Ladies' Clothing

Dresses, tops, trousers, skirts, jackets, cardigans, formal and casual wear — clean and ready to wear.

Children's Clothing

Baby, toddler, and school-age clothing for girls and boys. All sizes welcome, including school uniform items.

Footwear

Shoes, sandals, boots, and sneakers for all ages. Pairs should be clean and have usable soles and intact uppers.

Accessories & Extras

Scarves, hats, belts, bags, and winter warmth items like gloves and beanies in clean, usable condition.

Please do not donate

Wet, stained, or heavily soiled items. Torn, damaged, or unwearable clothing. Single shoes or unmatched footwear.

General rule: If you would be comfortable wearing or giving the item to a friend, it is suitable for donation. Items do not need to be new — they simply need to be clean, dry, and free of major damage. We have sorting and mending capabilities on-site, so minor repairs are acceptable.
